WHAT IS A WHEEL ?
A wheel is a system of picking a variety of combinations
from a small or select group of numbers. The advantage of a
wheel is that if you win, you will also win some lower prizes
such as the second or third prizes. These second-tier prizes
are always paid immediately and can be worth a great deal
of money.
Another advantage of a wheel is known as a win "guarantee".
Thus some wheels can guarantee the grand prize, while other
wheels can only guarantee the second or third prize. The
win "guarantee" depends on the construction of the wheel, how
many tickets are played and the size of the selected group
of numbers.
The disadvantage of some wheels especially "full" wheels is
that some combinations are not "balanced" - that is, the sum
might be very high or very low. This can be remedied by creating
what is known as a "filtered wheel" that eliminates difficult
combinations - this makes sure every combination is a good
candidate to be a winner. The downside of a filtered wheel is
that the win guarantee, is no longer a "guarantee", since every
combination was not played.
Some examples of wheels are the following:
1) FULL WHEELS - "full" wheels are so-named because
every possible combination or a "full" set of the
selected numbers is played. The grand prize is guaranteed
if the 6 numbers drawn are among the selected group you
wheeled.
2) ABBREVIATE SYSTEMS - these systems cover just enough
combinations to give a minimum win guarantee, thus making
the process of wheeling many numbers affordable.
3) POWER SYSTEMS - this is a system where one fixed number
(the number 3 for example) appears in every game, and the
other numbers are wheeled around it. POWER number systems
cost even less to play than other ABBREVIATED systems with
the same win guarantee for the same amount of numbers
wheeled.
---------------------------------------------------------------
EXAMPLES OF WHEELS AND HOW THEY ARE CONSTRUCTED:
1) The following is a FULL wheel of 7 numbers. You
will notice that you will have to replace each "letter"
in the wheel with the corresponding "number" to be
wheeled.
YOUR 7 NUMBERS TO WHEEL
---------------------------
A B C D E F G
---------------------------
12 15 20 27 33 40 48
---------------------------
THE 7 GAMES TO PLAY ARE:
ABCDEF OR 12-15-20-27-33-40
ABCDEG OR 12-15-20-27-33-48
ABCDFG OR 12-15-20-27-40-48
ABCEFG OR 12-15-20-33-40-48
ABDEFG OR 12-15-27-33-40-48
ACDEFG OR 12-20-27-33-40-48
BCDEFG OR 15-20-27-33-40-48
Notice how each number is used exactly the same
number of times - there are 6 12's and 6 15's ,etc.
